| ALICE GRACED BEAUTIFUL DAY HERE! |
[Dec. 7th, 2009|10:01 am] |
the DVD came!
I thought it was gonna arrive at around 10:30 like it said on the Fedex tracking thing..but it got here a little after 9!
I was shocked and excited!
>< I think they had opened up the box to see what was inside at customs or something cause the box was easily openable... but the DVD inside was fine. XD
Never expected the packaging to be so nice! The DVD case is very nice, its a box instead of a case. Each DVD is in its on separate DVD case which is very interesting. But cool, i"ve never seen it done that way. The 56 page booklet is very nice! Amazingly done, great photos and quality.
It was well worth the $100. Although I wouldn't have minded if shipping had been free. But I guess cause I don't live in Japan I have to get express or something.
I couldn't be happier. Makes me want to see them live even more |

| [Discography] mudy on the sakuban |
[Dec. 3rd, 2009|06:58 pm] |
mudy on the sakubanmudy on the 昨晩 Hounoki Yuutaka (ba), Mori Watifo (gt), Kiriyama Ryoota (gt), Furusawa Hirokazu (gt), Itou Kouhei (dr) ♦ status → active | indies » Zankyu Records ♦ info → official site (jp) | myspace | wikipedia (jp)♦ sounds like → LITE, 3nd, Ogre You Asshole, People in the Box, toe, cinema staff, lostage, the telephones ♦ genres → instrumental rock, shoegaze, post rock, rock ♦ support → yesasia | cdjapan | hmv | amazon (jp)
♦ sarah's note → Another instrumental rock band, who are quickly becoming a favorite of mine. mudy on the sakuban is on my favorite indies label Zankyu Records which houses other notable artist such as Texas Pandaa and miimi. As an instrumental band with fit right in with groups such as LITE and 3nd. Unlike them, however, sakuban has a more unique sound that bounces from mellow rock to shoegaze rock and all to the sound of three guitars and no vocalist. They are just starting out but they show great promise of things to come. I would grab "kidnie" to test. ( Mini-Albums )Note: They have their first single coming out soon. :D → Report Broken Links |

Pruning The Hedges
So one of the main reasons I've had such a hard time coming back to Livejournal, I've realized, is that I have no interest in what's going on. I can't say I don't care about my friends' lives, but it's more of the fact that there's SO MUCH on my list that I can't be bothered to read anymore. There are people there I never talk to anymore, communities I have no interest in, and it's just getting to be too much.
With that in mind, I'm doing a huge friend and community cut. If you unfriended me and are just now getting a message that I unfriended you, well it's because you unfriended me first. Nothing personal, but if you don't care what I have to say, I'm not going to bother taking the time to read your journal.
If I cut you and you still have me friended, feel free to take that as an opportunity to let me out of your life if you so choose. If, however, you want to stay in my life, you're welcome to do that, too. Just leave a message and I may even friend you back. I'm pretty easygoing overall, and really? It may just be that I forgot your username and so didn't know who you were. Who knows? I really, really suck with remembering who is who, and since I haven't been on LiveJournal in a long time, needless to say my mind is all befuddled. Seriously, unfriending felt so good I think I might've gotten a few people I didn't mean to in the purge by mistake... so just let me know.
Those who've stuck around this long? Thanks for hanging with me and keeping with me through thick and thin. Here's to many more years of insanity, eh? |

| Jess 1, Zombies 0 |
[Dec. 2nd, 2009|02:31 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | stressed | ] | I dreamed about zombies last night. I had to fight them in this high rise, going to different floors on the elevator, and they just wouldn't stop. I even went up to the 27th floor, which happened to be the roof, but they were scaling up the sides of the building and I had to kick them back. These crazy, fast, rabid undead things... it was exhausting. I wasn't terrified but I was very worried I wouldn't make it. I only had this barbecue steak fork thing, and used it to stab the zombies. Obviously it wasn't exactly efficient or even effective half the time. I did manage to get out, but barely.
I figure it was my mind's way of worrying about my exams. In which case, that's okay, because I'd much prefer to dream about kicking zombie ass than writing exams - I do enough exam writing in real life, and not so much of the battling zombies (there just isn't time). The good news is that I did make it out of the zombie infested building alive, so there may be hope for me yet. We'll see. I'm not so sure about German, but that's next week, and I can't really stand to worry about it quite yet. |

| [Update] |
[Nov. 27th, 2009|07:32 pm] |
Hope everyone had a safe and happy turkey day and overate a lot. Sarah's taking a tiny break from schoolwork to just make a little announcement.
Ongaku Chunk has been re-launched with a shiny new layout, new formatting, and a "mail-in" payment option. Plus we have a search box and a shiny new contact form for easier communication. If you feel like shopping then stop by and browse. :3
In other news.... Sarah GOT A NEW COMPUTER! *squees*
While there might not be a rise in productivity right away, I fully expect an easier time getting lots of stuff posted.
You may now returned to your regularly scheduled vacations. |

An Interview By Eric de Fontenay (MUsicDish LLC Founder & Publisher) (more articles from this author)

Subsequent to my trip to Hong Kong last June for Music Matters, Dirt Star (a musician based out of Shenzhen in southern China) and I connected through Twitter. I quickly became interested in this Western expat who started from scratch as a one-man band, utilizing a modified acoustic guitar with built-in midi controller for rocking beats in sync with Ableton Live. Over time, he became a jack-of-all-trades, playing in a number of bands, including a stint as an electronic DJ, as guitarist and lead singer for an indie rock band, a street performer, an electronic jazz artist. He's even performed pop songs before live audiences of over 20,000. Dirt Star now performs in a 3-piece punk rock and has shared stages with some of the biggest names in alternative music, including the Dirty Three, Feeder, the Rheostatics, and China's biggest diva, Faye Wong. |
